Tips for a trip:

The Chateau Lednice
The Chateau Lednice and its large English-style park is one of the most beautiful complexes in the Czech Republic. The Liechtenstein family acquired the whole estate in 1249 and they have owned it for nearly 700 years. The chateau was originally built as the fortress and it was rebuilt in Renaissance style in the 16th century. Already at that time, the large chateau's garden was created around the chateau. The chateau went through an important adjustment in the late 17th century when it was adapted to the Baroque style according to the plans by the Italian architect Domenico Martinelli and John Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The chateau gained its present appearance, which is based on the neo-Gothic style, during the extensive reconstruction in the mid of the 19th century. There is a large English-style greenhouse on the right side of the Chateau Lednice which was built in the years 1834 – 1835. The chateau gardens, that were created in the nearly 19th century, are situated around the chateau.

The Minaret
The Minaret is situated in the chateau gardens about 2 km north of the chateau. There are two paths to the Minaret around a pond. You can get there also by a boat along the river Thaya, you can walk along the hiking trails, or you can even take a carriage.

Apollo Temple
The Apollo Temple stands on a hill above the pond Mlýnský, red tourist trail connecting Lednice and Valtice, about 3 km away of Lednice. It was built, as well as the majority of the objects in the Lednice-Valtice area, in the early 19th century (the Empire style). As a decoration were brought the wonderful sculptures made by Viennese sculptor and painter Joseph Klieber. They used to be a part of a nearby canceled Temple of the Muses.

Three Graces
The Temple of the Three Graces is situated about 5 km northeast of Valtice. The sculpture shows a trio of the ancient goddesses Athena, Aphrodite and Artemis. It was carved from a single boulder by Leopold Fischer and it originally decorated the chateau park in Lednice.  Unfortunately, the interior of the temple is not accessible because of its decrepitude.
